In establishing his own firm, John Willmott satisfied his long time vision that brought together his passion for architecture and his entrepreneurial sensibility. Since forming JWA in 2000, John has built the firm using three founding principles -to provide thoughtful design, complete documentation and extraordinary personal service to our clients. The strength of our firm is rooted in our commitment to our founding values. Your design and building experience should be enjoyable. Thoughtful Design

We use the word “thoughtful” because it suits us well. To us it means design that considers many things - creativity, meets our clients’ requirements, environmentally considerate, budget conscious and technically sound. We are well aware that not every project is an award winner but we strive to make our designs honest responses to our clients’ goals. Listening to our clients and working with their own ideas is core strength. Of course we bring our professional experience and creative mind to the project sorting through many concepts to formulate cohesive designs. We view each project as a partnership with our clients. Our portfolio is full of diverse design themes and architectural style, which is a testament to our adaptability and dedication to our client’s goals.

Complete Documentation

There are many types of documentation required for a building project: agreements, sketches, construction drawings and specifications, budgets, contracts and contract administration. While we strive to improve continually, our staff is trained to ensure all of our drawings and other instructions are accurate, sufficiently detailed and without contradiction. Our philosophy is simple: clarity and completeness will promote accurate pricing, easier construction, minimize difficulties in the field and ensure a quality of design and detail that your project deserves.
