JWA’s Favourite Interior Paint Colours.jpg

Never underestimate the power of colour, an inspiring colour can set the tone for an entire design concept. Whether you are doing a small renovation or a new build, paint colours can immediately transform and uplift your space. People perceive colour in different ways, as designers we appreciate the many shades and depths of each colour and all their subtle differences. In our design library at the office we keep a collection of paint samples in our go to colours which we use time and time again. Here are a few of our favourite paint colours for your interior spaces:

01. Benjamin Moore CC-20 Decorator’s White

Part of the Designer Classics collection this timeless, crisp white is one of our absolute favourite colours…and yes white is a colour! Typically used for trim: baseboards, door and window casing, crown moulding, ceiling details, wall paneling as well as doors, ceilings, millwork and even a main wall colour, Decorator’s White never disappoints.

02. Benjamin Moore OC-53 Horizon

Horizon is a neutral light gray which we often use for our main interior wall colour throughout the house. It’s soft tones have a very elegant, calming feel. This wonderful colour is quite adaptable, making it well suited for a variety of spaces and styles within the home.

03. Benjamin Moore HC-154 Hale Navy

Oh how we love a good navy! Paired with our go to Decorator’s white, it’s a nautical dream! Frequently used in Study’s and Powder Room’s, the right navy can add an elegant and formal look to any wall or millwork piece.

04. Benjamin Moore OC-52 Gray Owl

For a dreamy, soothing bedroom colour look no further that Gray Owl. Also equally wonderful in bathrooms as either a main wall colour or millwork colour and anywhere white marble with gray veining is part of the design.

05. Benjamin Moore 2133-20 Black Jack

Nothing beats a classic black and white look. Black Jack is a true saturated black with deep, bold tones that work as a great contrast to other colours. Perfect as an accent or dramatic statement on walls, doors, ceilings, stairs or even furniture!

06. Benjamin Moore 2055-30 Caribbean Blue Water

And last but not least…..Turquoise. Everyone who has ever known me will acknowledge my deep obsession with everything Turquoise. No other colour brings me as much joy, and a bold feature paint colour should bring joy! Every time you walk into a space with your favourite colour it should bring a big smile to your face and leave a happy feeling! For me that colour is turquoise. Its luxurious jewel tones and rich saturated colour make it perfectly suited for a feature wall or walls (hello Powder Room!) or as a dramatic millwork piece. These qualities of a feature paint colour can be applied to any colour such as a deep emerald green, dark regal purple, bright chartreuse, sunny yellow, pale pink or our favourite navy!
